Deep, rich red purple, this wine has a captivating nose with many layers of complexity. Concentrated berry aromas against a background of new wood greet the nose on its first encounter. As one exams the wine a little more closely, we find suggestion of cassis and violets. As the wine develops in the glass, a pleasant toasty caramel nose develops. On the palate it reveals rich, fruity flavors with vanilla and toast accents, against a background of nicely integrated tannins. Well balanced, with a lovely finish that reminds one of berries and cream. Outstanding. JKW3/93
