The wine is a clear bright orange rose color. Complex, integrated nose it exhibits hints of strawberries and vanilla caramel. Medium body, the wine reveals impressive weight and concentration while the aromas are mirrored on the palate along with oak nuances. WINEGROWER’S NOTES : Domaine Cigalus enjoys a hot, sunny Mediterranean climate (described as “semi-arid with temperate spring variants”) ensuring early ripening of all the grape varieties. This arid climate (low rainfall) is offset by the very deep soils (sediments deposited by the Aussou, a stream at the edge of the estate) which store the winter rains for longer but which are less fertile due to the presence of a slightly chalky sandstone in the subsoil, dating back to the Campanian (secondary era, prior to the emergence of the Pyrenees).

WINE MAKER’S NOTES:A vineyard committed to biodynamic agriculture and designed to produce a truly exceptional wine.As early as the planting stage this vineyard was designed to create a premium wine: - Choice of high-quality clones- Planting density of over 5,000 vines per hectare- High espalier training in order to obtain a large leaf surface and thus encourage photosynthesis and ripeningGreat care and attention are lavished on the vineyard in order to achieve a healthy harvest with moderate yields and hence get the very best out of the grapes. The harvesting date is triggered grape variety by grape variety, and only when the grapes have reached optimum ripeness and after they have been rigorously tasted.The hand-picked grapes are destemmed and pneumatically pressed as soon as they get to the winery. After a cold static settling, the juice begins the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats. 20 to 30% of the juice undergoes the alcoholic fermentation in new barrels.After a light fining operation the wine is bottled. Serve at12°C with sushi, exotic dishes or shellfish.

Terroir description :
The Grenache Noir vines are ideally located in the Roussillon area, between Mediterranean sea and Pyrenees mountains. The dry and sunny terroir enables the Grenache Noir, the emblematic grape variety of the Mediterranean, to express its best aromas. On the other hand, the Grenache Gris vines are located on the seaside in the east part of the Languedoc, that brings elegant mineral and iodized notes.
Tasting Notes :
An original rosé with a very pale pink colour plus grey and whitish tints. The bouquet reveals delightful red berry scents. A slight sparkle on the palate gives the wine all its freshness and brings out its fruit to the full. The elegant finish is pleasantly fresh and mineral. Grenache is the king of grape varieties when it comes to making light, racy, fruity rosés in contemporary style. Grenache reveals all its suppleness and cherry aromas. Its fig and sometimes cocoa flavours, plus its rounded sensations on the palate, make it one of the great varieties of the South of France.

To be savoured at 10-12°C as an aperitif, with seafood, Mediterranean-style
salads, Asian dishes, baked fish and spicy and stronger-tasting dishes
