    Diners French Restaurant Week: Our Wines Served at Charity Gala Dinner

    On Wednesday September 19th, Charity Gala Dinner hosted by Diners French Restaurant Week 2012 was held at Grand Hyatt Tokyo. As a sponsor of this event, we provided our wines and they were served at the dinner. It was our pleasure to take part in this special occasion.

    French Restaurant Week 2012 starts on Monday Septemer 24th. Let us go dine at the restaurants participating this event.

    Gerard Bertrand Selected as Red Winemaker of the Year

    We have the pleasure to announce you that Gérard Bertrand has been awarded on Tuesday “Red Winemaker of the Year by the International Wine Challenge after winning 46 awards and three trophies for its wines.

    With 10,000 wines from around the world tasted by the jury of experts the International Wine Challenge is one of the most prestigious wine competitions in the world.

    The label for the 2008 Chateau Mouton-Rothschild, was designed by Xu Lei. Probably not a concidence as the 2008 also marked the Olymppics in Beijing. While 8 in Chinese souds very close to wealth.

    Beaujolais Nouveau Domaine Information

    Autumn is knocking our doors. Time to be excited about Beaujolais Nouveau. In meantime, here's the Domaine information as a preview. Let us look forward to the third Thursday of November.

    Wine & Food

    Shrimps and Cashew Nuts Stir Fry Paired with Provenza Lugana
     
    Peeled shrimps (small size) 400g
    Roasted unsalted cashew nuts: half cup
    Scallions: half bunch
    Minced ginger: 2 large spoonfuls
    Sesame oil: As you think proper
     
    To marinate shrimps
    Egg white: half portion of a whole egg
    Corn starch: 1 large spoon
    Salt: A half of a tablespoon
     
    For seasoning (mix well)
    White wine: 2 large spoons,
    Salt: 1 large spoon
    Chicken broth: 1 large spoon each
    Sesame oil: As you think proper

    Recipe
    Marinate shrimps and leave them for at least an hour.
    Pour sesame oil into a frying pan, stir fry the marinated shrimps for 1-2 minutes, then remove and place on a plate.
     
    On another frying pan, pour olive oil into it and leave it on low heat.  Fry the minced ginger first, and let the oil inherit a nice fragrance.  Add scallion, and fry it lightly. Add the shrimps left on the plate then fry them together. (Be careful not to fry too much.) Add mixed the seasoning which should already be well mixed and fry them well together.

    Serve them with rice with white sesame sprinkled on top.

    A light fruitiness and a vigorous acidity is the characteristic of the Provenza Lugana. Further it has a slight bitterness in finish.
     
    The sweetness, which comes from both shrimps and cashew nuts, will match well with the inherent fruitiness of the wine.  Gentle flavors of dish, are accented nicely by the addition of ginger and further harmonious with the wines.
     
    It is expected that the hot weather will continue. This light features of this combination can be enjoyed even when you don’ t have much appetite.  Please give a try!
