 Winery of the Month

Chateau Leoville Barton

At a very early stage, in 1638 a Monsieur Moytie, had started assembling little parcels of land on the hillock just south of Latour, across the stream that divides the parish of St.-Julien from Pauillac. He named his gravel ‘dune’ Mont-Moytié. A century later it was bought by a President of Parliament, Monsieur Léoville. At this stage it was possibly the largest vineyard in the Médoc. Today it is divided into three, and Léoville Barton is one of the trio, of these St.-Julien estates with the name Léoville (all of which are 2nd growths).

 Wine & Food

Cod is very light, so the trick to matching this dish with wine is to analyze the sauce.

There are some ingredients with strong flavor in the sauce namely Garlic, Rakkyo, butter, balsamic vinegar and soy sauce.  For cod on its own without a sauce, a medium body Chardonnay is too strong, but thanks to the strong flavored sauce you can enjoy it with beautiful Heitz Chardonnay. Butter goes really well with Chardonnay and the sweetness from Balsamic vinegar match very well with the flavor and fruits of Heitz Chardonnay, which has gone through moderate barrel aging.  Given the subtle nature of  Heitz Chardonnay,  which is not a typical bold new world style can allow you to create wonderful matching without overpowering the cuisine.

This is a dish even people who are not keen to fish will enjoy.  Please try it!

I can

Arians love freedom, and they will accept any challenge. The Aries will get impatient if its ideas do not work out immediately and as expected. Arians are unwilling to follow someone else's suggestions, especially if they do not make sense to them. They often have excess energy which can make them aggressive. Arians are brave leaders who express care and concern for all they lead. However, an Arian as a follower is rare, and can be troublesome. Because the Aries is open and honest, it will make energetic and generous friends. Arians have trouble compromising which can lead to problems in otherwise smooth friendships.Arians are extremely friendly and charming. They get bored very soon in their affairs because they also prefer intelligent and versatile partners. The opposite sex finds the Aries fascinating because of its beauty consciousness and adventurous nature.
