The Resurrection (2015)
A new wine from proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset, the 2014 Proprietary Red Secret Indulgence comes from three vineyards owned by Boisset. This 200-case cuvee is probably mostly Bordeaux varietals aged 23-24 months in 40% new French oak. Made under the helmsmanship of Boisset’s winemaker Stephanie Putnam and consulting oenologist Philippe Melka, the wine exhibits a dense purple color, a big, sweet kiss of chocolate, blackberry and cassis, a touch of forest floor and earth, a bit of truffle and loads of black and blue fruits, background oak, sweet tannin and adequate acidity. Its should drink well for 20 or more years. by Robert M. Parker, Jr.
Composed of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Petite Sirah coming from the St. Helena and Rutherford AVAs respectively, the 2015 Secret Indulgence Red has a very deep garnet-purple color and pronounced nose of crème de cassis, black plum preserves, mocha and licorice with touches of red roses, garrigue and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, rich and decadent in the mouth, it has tons of spice and baked berry layers with a fine-grained texture and great freshness, finishing long.
