Elaboration
A late yet exceptional harvest thanks to a month of September with sun-filled days and cooler nights. The slow ripening allowed for remarkable Chardonnays along with elegant and structured Pinots Noirs.
As for all Boizel cuvées, only the first press juice is used in the assemblage of Grands Crus, mainly Mailly and Vertus for the great Pinots noirs, and Oger, Avize and Vertus for the Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs.
Following a long ageing in our cellars, a low dosage is selected to enhance the typicality of this great year.
Tasting Note
The robe is a gorgeously deep golden yellow, with delicate, vivaciously swirling bubbles. The bouquet is complex and subtle at first with suave floral fragrances (acacia, linden-blossoms)that expand into honey like, fruity touches(pineapple) underlined by strong gingerbread and orange rind notes. Straight and supple on the palate at first, the refined, silky texture gradually becomes more structured with a pure and fresh vinosity. The aromas areconfirmed in a subtle harmony of brioche scent and roasted almond enlivened by a slight bitterness along with saline minerality. The finish is long and voluptuous.
