James Sackling 90pts!

Parker 86-88 points!

“The Domaine Virginie Thunevin, the vineyard which belongs to Jean-Luc’s daughter, has a pleasing blackberry and cassis-scented nose, simple but nicely integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, ever so slightly dry tannin that renders the finish rather conservative and foursquare. However, even at this early juncture you can appreciate the balance and length. This is a satisfactory Bordeaux Rouge to enjoy over several years.” comments from the Wine Advocate by Neal Martin

Varietal: Merlot 100%

Domaine Virginie Thunevin (2015)

Parker 88-90 points!

The 2015 Domaine Virginie Thunevin has a fragrant bouquet with dark cherries, bergamot and light stony scents. There is a clarity here, an honesty that I like. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly coarse tannin, but I appreciate the fruit profile: mulberry, red plum and a healthy sprinkle of white pepper and spice towards the finish. Give this 2-3 years in bottle to absorb the oak and you'll have yourself a perfect introduction to Jean-Luc Thunevin's winemaking skill.comments from the Wine Advocate by Neal Martin
