Terroir/Vinification

Terroir Mediterranean climate due to the influence of Lake Garda — Italy’s largest lake — which moderates the climate. Weather is humid from spring to autumn. Diurnal temperature swings are low, but that suits the Trebbiano grapes. Soils are clay-rich, with a chalky-clay topsoil which is more concentrated around the lake. The Tenuta Maiolo is sourced from land further to the south, where the land rises into a series of hills, and the clay soil becomes sandier, resulting in wines that are fuller and richer.

Geology Soils are clay-rich, with a chalky-clay topsoil which is more concentrated around the lake. The Tenuta Maiolo is sourced from land further to the south, where the land rises into a series of hills, and the clay soil becomes sandier, resulting in wines that are fuller and richer.
Harvest Manual
Vinification Grapes are manually harvested. In the winery, grapes are gently crushed and the resulting juice is carefully monitered during temperature controlled fermentation. The wine ages in stainless steel container until spring before being bottled in a controlled atmosphere to reduce oxygen content in the bottle.
