Beaujolais News 2019 (2019/9/10 )

Harvest 2019 started early Monday!!

Monday was THE DAY !! We officially started the harvest 2019 Monday morning. The first grapes arrived at our cellar at 09h30. The last weeks have been nice and hot enabling an optimum maturation of the grapes. The cool nights in the last week enabled the grapes to be at a perfect temperature. The vintage is starting under the best conditions and we are very confident regarding the quality. We have been preserved from the heavy hail storms end of the summer in our area. Of course, as usual, it is early to have a definitive opinion, but our winemakers are confident that the results will be of high standard. The Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages areas are in very good conditions with small grapes full of sugar. The areas of the crus have started today with the first grapes of Morgon. Here also the first measures indicate a great potential, Brouilly will start tomorrow, Fleurie and Moulin à Vent will be following at the end of next week. As usual Chiroubles will be the last one. Here the grapes are still enjoying the last sunny days to fully ripe. The cellar is again full of the noise from tractors bringing us the grapes, we are ready to make the best out of the fantastic grapes from our growers. Will let you know as soon as possible the first results are available.
