I would like to invite you to share a unique experience with me.
Come, let me show you.
Gérard Bertrand

It all began with this vision I had when wandering through this spot in 1997.
I felt myself to be at peace and in harmony with nature.
And from this, a love of creation welled up inside me.
The idea of producing an exceptional wine on this terroir had been born.
Some 15 years later, we created the first vintage.
Thank you for your patience.

Here, the vine, the olive tree and the oak compose the Mediterranean trinity. We planted Syrah and Mourvèdre alongside the ancient Carignan and Grenache. At the highest point of the estate we renovated an old sheep farm, creating a fermenting room, a barrel cellar and also a meditation area.

Here, nature renders us humble and time stands still. Ora is Latin for prayer and it also signifies the link between the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, symbolised by the Visigoth cross created in Languedoc in the 7th century

At Clos d’Ora, we have opted for Biodynamic methods in working the vines, using the horse and the mule to foster connections between mineral, vegetable, animal and human.

Wine is a multidimensional beverage and sometimes carries a message. The fermenting room was designed outdoors to favour cosmic influences. The barrel cellar radiates a strength and tranquility that are beneficial to the ageing of this wine.

This vineyard of nine hectares enclosed by dry stone walls is located at La Livinière in the Minervois, at an altitude of 220 metres. It finds itself at the convergence of two distinct terroirs - Bartonian and Lutetian - and is composed of chalk, sandstone and marl soils.

Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan.

Cultivated using biodynamic methods, using only horse traction for work between the rows.

Leaf thinning takes place before the harvest and the grapes areentirely hand-picked.
Each grape variety and each parcel is macerated in separate batches in an unlined, thermo-regulated precast concrete vat.
Syrah: vatting and vinification of destalked grapes.
Grenache and Mourvèdre: destemming and light crushing before vatting under strict temperature control. Very gentle maceration, limiting the extraction of tannins. Some pumping over for aeration, and humidification of the cap only.
Carignan: whole bunch vatting at higher temperatures to extract the maximum of aromas.

12 months in French oak barrels.

The barrels are run off and the wines are blended after the Spring equinox.
COMPOSITION OF THE BLEND: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan.
ORDER OF BLENDING: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan.

Clos d'Ora is the outcome of a slow-maturing project.
It was born of a spiritual journey and an irresistible desire to producean exceptional wine at this mysterious and unspoiled spot.

I wish you to drink this wine with awareness and let yourself be guidedby the power of its message:
