Climate 2011 has been a rainy spring and a hot, dry summer. In order to achieve the quality of MAS d'en GIL, a severe selection in the vineyards has been made. The result is a limited production with notes of "mina de llapis"

Vinification Maceration (alcoholic fermentation) lasts around 20 days: The first 7-10 days takes places the alcoholic fermentation at 27-30º C in stainless steel tanks (1.000 to 5.000 liter of capacity). Each one of the 43 identified plots at Mas d´en Gil state is elaborated separately. Malolactic fermentation lasts 15-20 days at 20º-25º C in underground tanks (3.000 to 7000 of capacity). After the malolactic fermentation, the 43 wines are tasted and the third selection and the blendings are made before filling the barrels.
Aging 12-14 months in oak and 2 years in bottle. Age of oak: 20% new, 30% 1 year, 25% 2 years, 25% 3 years. Size of oak: 3000L, 1500 L, 225 L. Origin of oak: France, Austria
