A fresh and delicate vintage: a peppy wine with a great vitality
Citrus peel, grapefruit, hint of aniseed on the nose.
Good balance on the palate between tension and acidity.
Fresh and salt finish.
Goulée Blanc by Cos d’Estournel 2013 is probably the most successful vintage in the young history of this wine. The perfect climatic conditions combined with the specific character of our unique terroir and its slight altitude exposure allowed us to produce a wine with great vitality and precision.
The rains in the winter and spring contributed to building up water reserves. These reserves were essential to cope with the drought in the months of July and August. July 2013 was in fact the hottest and driest of the past 60 years.
The Goulée Blanc by Cos d’Estournel vineyard is exposed to refreshing breezes from the Gironde which allowed the grapes to ripen slowly while still retaining remarkable freshness.
