Appelation: Rheinhessen: Rheinhessen is the largest winemaking area with respect to the size and quantity in Germany. This appellation is neighboring to the Nahe in west and the Rhine in east and north. Moderate valleys surround Rheinhessen that produces wine abundant in mellow, delicate, soft round, generous flavor with plenty of fruit. Representative varieties are Muller Thurgau and Riesling for white and Dornfelder for red. The area is the largest home to Silvaner.
