Tasting Note: Deep ruby colour, full rounded nose with red and black ripe fruit aroma, toasted almond, sweet spices and balsamic notes. On the palate it displays a full-bodied structure, fine-grained soft tannins, lively freshness with a long-lasting dried black fruit and spice aftertaste.
Food Matching: Barbeque, grilled meat, spicy meat preparations, seasoned hard cheeses.
Grape variety: Marzemino, Groppello, Barbera, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc.
Terroir: Valtenesi area, nearby Garda Lake.
Soil: Moreninic origin (mainly sandy texture, clay and limestone, high skeleton).
Vinification: Fermentation with maceration (pumping-over and delestage) of about 12 days at 24-28°C in stainless steel, then maturation of about 18 months in barrique.
Ageing: French barrels of 225 Lt (new, 1st-2nd used), 18 months.
Residual sugar 5.0g/L.
