| Mclaren Vale, is one of Australia’s older wine regions dating back to 1838. The region is noted for smaller wineries producing quality wine. Coriole is a small family run estate with an international reputation for producing top class wines. Originally the winery was called Bonne Sante, until it was bought by the Lloyd family in 1967. Though renamed they maintained some of the original buildings which date back to 1860. The winery has since undergone constant upgrading and expansion. It has developed from a property that comprised of some 8ha’s of 60-year-old Shiraz vines to 22ha’s. of mixed varieties, produces approximately 23,000 cases a year. Today, “Coriole, in Mclaren Vale, is known for unusually elegant reds” and is among the State’s best equipped small/medium sized wineries.
The Shiraz is considered to be their premium variety.
