Château Cheval Blanc

Sitting right on the Pomerol border, Cheval is unique in that the property has been inourcaud-Laussac families hands since 1832. Not alone this but the surface area of 37 ha’s has also stayed unchanged since 1850. This chateau has been making wines of high quality from the start.
It has won the highest awards given to wines from this region at various exhibitions over a long time through out the world (London 1862; Paris, 1878; Antwerp, 1885; Brussels, 1910 Etc.). Cheval Blanc was the last growth on premier cru level to sell part of its output in cask (this ceased in 1969).
The evaluation of this Medoc would probably put it on par with a Medoc first-growth. No expense is spared, and the care and attention, such as using 100% new wood, is really reflected in this wine. Also one of the delightful things about this wine which is among the top eight Bordeaux wines is that it has the broadest window of drinkability among its peers.
