<vspace="20">Jeff Cohn Cellars walks the tightrope between the purity of California fruit and the Rhône-influenced winemaking of vintner Jeff Cohn. Our Single Vineyard Zinfandels and Rhône-centric blends show a unique approach to coaxing the minerality and best character that each of our vineyards have to offer. Alternative fermentation and barrel aging enhance the flavors and provide balanced, artisinal small production wines from vintage to vintage.

We produce 5,000 cs each year from 11-14 of California's finest vineyards. Each vintage we make 20-25 labels, most under 200cs. production of the finest wines that are highly rated each vintage.Jeff is best known for our Rockpile Series Syrahs that are rated 95-99 by Robert Parker.

Contribution to the Californian Wine Industry

Jeff has contributed to the California wine industry by isolating a yeast at the Rockpile vineyard that is used now commercially to produce mineral driven wines that showcase the elegance and strength of Syrah, Zinfandel and other red varietals.

Jeff was instrumental in convincing many Internation coopers to sell their barrels in the U.S. for the first time in order to provide more diversity to the industry. His alternative fermentation techniques including using a concrete egg, 600L concrete foudre, 600L barrels, and even a terra cotta amphora has introduced very cutting edge winemaking tecniques to the consumers to showcase the immense flexibility in creating unique wines that have an incredible wow factor.
