Rheingau covers the north bank of the Rhein from Lorchhausen to Wiesbaden via Assmannshausen, further stretching into Hochheim located in the north bank close to the estuary of the Main. The south-oriented vineyards receiving abundant sunshine produce elegant wine with refined fragrance and unique strong flavor.
Well known as the most wine-producing area, Rheingau is the major wine appellation in Germany. Riesling is predominantly produced for white and so is Spatburgunder for red in the region.
